Moving objects
Moving an object on a page is sometimes called "translating it." While you can use the selection tools in the Toolbox to drag an object wherever you want it, the Action Bar offers the benefit of numerical precision. For example, the Action Bar lets you move an object exactly 24 pixels to the right and 14 pixels down.
To move (translate) one or more selected objects by a specific amount:
- Click Relative Transform on the Options drop-down list in the Action Bar.
- Type or select the amount you want to move the selected object in the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) meters. Positive values move an object to the right or up. Negative values move to the left or down.
Note that you can translate one or more individual nodes on a path by first selecting them with the Direct Selection tool or Lasso Selection tool.
